We did it!

This morning I got up at 5:00 to ride my bike after news from Shawn that it is light when he leaves now. What I didn't expect is that since he leaves between 6:15 and 6:30, it would still be pitch dark out at that hour. I figured it would be a little bit light, at least.
Wrong.
So I decided, no problem. I'll have my quiet time before I go out. Did that. Had some time with God. Prayed for some friends, and then took out. By this time it was 5:30 and I didn't have much time before Shawn would need to leave. So I only went 4.3 miles, which is to the flashing light and back. I was feeling kind of bummed about it, so I got the brilliant idea to ride to church for choir practice. The last time I rode there, I had a meeting, and when I got there, I was so winded and sweating, it took me more than half an hour to cool down and breathe normally. Not very attractive for the other homeschool Moms. Lucky for me, they know me and were proud of my efforts. But this time, the church was packed with the normal Wednesday night dinner and prayer meeting folks. They don't all know me as well, and while I'd like to think I'm everybody's little darling, I have a mirror, and know I'm nobody's LITTLE anything. But I did it anyway. And you know what? I wasn't as winded or sweaty this time. It didn't take me as long to catch my breath, and my red face that gets all flushed when I'm overheated and alarms everyone around me, was covered in makeup, so no one went running for a defibrillator.
I ate dinner, practiced with the choir, hopped back on and pedaled home.

GOD AND I DID IT! WE RODE SOMETHING LIKE 16.5 MILES TODAY!

YAY! :)
And now that I've seen your bike, your seat doesn't alarm me as much as Donald's seat. His looks like a paper clip compared to yours!! Maybe my bum wouldn't hurt so bad on that kind of seat!

Way to go!
