Note to self

When riding one's bike in the 85 degree misty morning, and when the humidity is already at 85%, don't forget one's bottle of WATER!!!!
Had a lovely new experience this morning. I went the opposite of Tuesday's route, and just as I came to the golf course I was joined by a rather large dog. He didn't bark or snarl. He just joined me in my journey. He ran beside me and sometimes right in front of me quite silently. His flopping black tongue told me he was a chow mix. All the size of a chow, without the hair length. I was beginning to wonder, after I made two turns onto different roads if I was going to have a new dog to feed. He just kept coming. And judging by the four inch gash in his side, where I could see glistening red muscle, he was a scrapper. Fortunately, he didn't seem to want to scrap with me.
I decided that God sent him to keep me company and give me a little boost of energy. I have to admit that I was frightened enough to step up the pace. I can just see the expression. You see, God and me, we had a little conversation.
Me: Okay, God, I'm really tired this morning, and I thought that since it felt all uphill on Tuesday that this way would be downhill.
God: It used to be, but I didn't want you to get lazy, so I fixed it for you during the night.
Me: Whine, whine, whine.
God: My grace is sufficient for you. I will give you strength.
Me: I know, but whine, whine, whine.
God: I can see you're having a little trouble getting through this. I'll send a little boost of energy to help you.
**insert rag-tag looking, beat up, friendly chow mix dog**
Me: Yikes! Hi uh, (looking carefully) Boy! You gonna run with me for a little while?
God: Just because I love you!
Me: Uh, thanks, I think.
